Charity Golf Tournament helps Children in Need.

Saturday was an amazing day, as many members of the Sunbelt family took to the golf course to help a worthy cause.

LifeLink International is a non-profit, Christian mission organization dedicated to help provide the essential basics of life to people groups in the poorest, most hard to reach areas of the world. LifeLink's current focus is in the impoverished area of Sandino, Nicaragua, where they feed and minister to more than 150 children every day. Last year alone, LifeLink provided over $120,000 in medical supplies to more thank 2.700 Nicaraguans who were treated at one of the 10 Medical and Dental clinics conducted in the most rural areas of Nicaragua.

As a requirement to protect the medical and food supplies, a security wall is being constructed around the perimeter of the LifeLink Sandino Base. Three of the four walls have been erected and this golf tournament was the part of a fund raising campaign for the 4th and final wall of the fence.

Brian and Jennifer Rossi, the golf tournament organizers said on Monday, "I owe so many of you a BIG thank you for your participation in Saturday's Charity Golf Outing. Despite some scattered showers, the event turned out to be an amazing success.  Thanks to your participation, Mike & Deborah Turner are back in Nicaragua and have already started work this morning on the 4th side of the fence.  Not only did you raise the $7,500 required to finish that project, but YOU doubled the goal and raised an amazing $15,708!"
